10 FOODS you MUST take home from the Granite Belt

Time for another 10 Best things and this time we are listing the 10 FOODS people take home from a visit to the Granite Belt.  Once again this list is compiled from what we hear in the Cellar Door and is in no particular order.



Raspberry Coulis - the Bramble Patch is famous for it's delicious berry treats and the raspberry coulis is simply scrumptious.

Apple Syrup - from Suttons Farm is made from oodles of apples and takes ages to make and is the most deliciously sweet syrup ever!! It can be used on sweets or try it on a baked ham...yummm!

Cheese - from Stanthorpe Cheese. There are so many to choose from and all made on site from the milk of very happy cows.  Try the Thulimbah or the Brass Monkey Blue, they seem to be the favourites.

Olives in Raspberry Vinegar from Mt Stirling Olives are so deliciously different that you just can't stop at one jar.  Stock up your pantry and your salads and cheese platters will never be the same.

Caramelised Balsamic Vinegar - Lirah vinegars are available from a number of outlets across the Granite Belt and will liven up any salad or try them with your favourite cheeses.


Maple Apple Jam - Greedy Me Gourmet is available from the Gourmet Food Gallery at Ballandean Estate is made using local apples and to Mary's own recipe.


Fresh Local Fruit & Veges - available seasonally from a number of outlets, why not try Sam's Fresh Fruit or head to the Stanthorpe Markets


Chocolate - Heavenly Chocolate produce handmade and delicious chocolates that are a special treat for chocolate lovers. While you are there, try the hot chocolate too.

Chilli - Chilli in Stanthorpe is the perfect take home for Chilli lovers.  Made from local chilli and lovingly produced to a traditional recipe this chilli is too hot for some.

Lemon Butter - New England Larder are an iconic producer of jams and relishes in the region and this butter is soooooo good.  It is available from many outlets around the region.
